The Indian women’s football team is preparing to compete in the Pink Ladies Cup 2025, an international tournament scheduled from February 19 to February 27 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The prestigious event will feature six teams from UEFA and AFC confederations, providing India with an opportunity to test its squad against some of the best teams in the world.
Head coach Thomas Dennerby has emphasized the importance of this tournament in shaping the team for upcoming events such as the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 and FIFA World Cup qualifiers. India will face tough opposition from Norway, Japan, Spain, and hosts UAE, with their opening match scheduled against Japan on February 20.
Captain Aditi Chauhan expressed confidence in her team’s ability to compete, highlighting the recent improvements in fitness and tactical awareness. “We are here to make a statement. We have trained rigorously, and our focus is to take each match step by step,” she said.
